Giving status
Online gifts are closed for now.
The IRS says MGA is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Florida says MGA is an active nonprofit. But as of August 25, 2026, MGA was not in the state charity search. We will keep online gifts closed until our state status and safe payment account are set.
The Florida business record still shows “NONE” for MGA's federal tax number. The IRS says our EIN is 42-3021161. We need to fix the state record.
How we handle money
Keep clear records. Follow the rules.
- Write down where each dollar came from and which project used it.
- Keep charity money separate from money that is not for charity.
- Follow all written rules from donors.
- Board members who are not part of a deal must check it. They must write down why the price is fair.
- Track gifts, sponsor funds, work income, and other income on their own lines.
- Send a current W-9 only to a real funder or partner who needs it.

Fixing a name typo
The IRS letter says “MOUNTA AND GULF ALLIANCE.” Our legal name is Mountain and Gulf Alliance Inc. We have a request ready to fix the typo.
